There are other things mentioned regarding presenting a solution for the Ummah (nation); if it adopts it, it must inevitably defeat its enemies under the authority of Allah and His Messenger, and under the leadership of the Messenger’s family (may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him and upon them). He called for jihad, he called for spending in the way of Allah.
You find among the amazing things in the Wise Book of Allah that it speaks about spending in His way, it speaks about jihad in His way within the context of talking about the Children of Israel, and what it presents of the news of the Children of Israel; to say to us: You are in need of raising yourselves, and raising the generations after you, to carry the spirit of jihad, the spirit of giving, the spirit of spending in the way of Allah.
You, O Muslims, must spend in the way of Allah, must be mujahideen (fighters in the way of Allah); otherwise, you will not be able to defeat this group.
It is also amazing that the verses which command people to unite and to hold fast to the rope of Allah also come within the context of the discussion about the Children of Israel. In [Surat Aal Imran], the verse in which Allah, the Exalted, says:{O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims} (Aal Imran: 102)
—this came after the discussion about the People of the Book. And this is part of the secret in the frequent mention of the People of the Book in the Noble Qur’an: that they will be the true enemies, the influential ones, and the dangerous ones upon the Ummah.
