In response to questions by One Nation MP Mark Latham, the NSW Police Minister has revealed that the police have “nil holdings” of any evidence “in relation to Iran or agents of the Iranian regime”, or indeed any other foreign agents, perpetrating any of the the 14 incidents investigated by Strike Force Pearl – being attacks on synagogues, graffiti, fire-bombings, attacks on cars and attacks on houses.

This tends to confirm that claims of Iranian involvement made by ASIO and PM Albanese – used to expel Iranian ambassador Ahmad Sadeghi in August – are baseless. Police have laid charges against people in all 14 of the ‘antisemitic’ incidents investigated. Ambassador Sadeghi rejected the accusations against Iran.

In August Prime Minister Albanese (right) and ASIO boss Mike Burgess (left) claimed Iranian proxies were behind attacks on Melbourne’s Adass Israel Synagogue and Lewis’s Continental Kitchen in Bondi in Sydney. They produced no evidence to support these claims.

The recent police revelation follows police statements earlier this year that the Dural caravan incident was a “fabricated terrorist plot” organised by criminals for their own personal gain.

Independent MP Rod Roberts said the NSW parliament “acted out of fear” and was “misled” by Premier Chris Minns when it rushed hate speech legislation on the belief antisemitic attacks spurred by hate were increasing.

This recent police statement – that police had no evidence of any Iranian involvement in any of the 14 incidents under investigation and charges – further undermines claims by both the NSW Premier Chris Minns (on rising anti-Jewish acts) and Prime Minister Albanese (on Iranian involvement in domestic incidents).

ASIO claims of Iranian attacks in Australia, backed by Israeli intelligence, firmly rejected by Iran’s ambassador, were not investigated Australian state and corporate media. The Israeli government says it shamed Australia to act against Iran following claims Iran had orchestrated antisemitic attacks
