There is a popular basis to Ukrainian fascism in the western regions. The 2009 poll (below) shows quite strong support for Bandera style ‘nationalism’ in the west, very little in the Russian speaking east. http://www.cpsa-acsp.ca/papers-2010/Katchanovski.pdf
